Why does tax change the price by country?

The price you see on the site includes tax, but the rate is set by your country, so the final amount is settled at checkout. That is not a bug — it is how digital goods are taxed.

For digital goods, tax is calculated at the rate of the BUYER's country, not the seller's. The same script sells for a different total to two customers in two countries — that is entirely normal.

The price shown on the site

Catalogue pages are pre-rendered on the server, so the price you see when you first open one may have been calculated with the server's country rate. The cart and checkout are built in your browser, so your country's rate applies there.

Where do you see the exact amount?

  1. The cart page shows the items and the subtotal.
  2. When you go to checkout, Tebex determines your country.
  3. The final tax-inclusive amount appears on the Tebex checkout screen.
Note: The amount on the checkout screen is the binding one. If it differs from the cart, the reason is almost always the tax rate.

Invoices and receipts

The seller of record is Tebex, so the receipt is issued by Tebex and sent by email. Refund terms are subject to Tebex's conditions for the same reason.

Tip: Enter a coupon code in the field on the cart page; the discount is applied at the Tebex checkout step and tax is calculated on the discounted amount.
